Why, in the year 2024, am I starting a blog?
It’s a good question, and the answer is simple: I miss the days of the old internet—when people shared simply for the sake of sharing, without trying to scale an audience, build a business, or compete for attention in a world dominated by algorithms and hyper-fragmented focus. It feels like everywhere we look, someone’s vying for our attention and wallets. But that’s not why I’m here. I’m here to return to a time when people posted purely to express themselves, to share their thoughts and experiences with the world—without agenda.
Recently, I’ve been sharing “screenshot essays” on Twitter—short, unfiltered reflections that I write in the moment. And I’ve realized how much I love this approach. After spending the past three years focused on long-form essays that often take weeks to finish, it feels refreshing to simplify and just express whatever’s on my mind. So, that’s what this blog will be—an experiment in sharing short, spontaneous reflections on life.
I’m going to try to post daily. No promises, but that’s the intention. My posts will be short and sweet, capturing whatever thoughts, feelings, or ideas I’m called to share. I hope this blog becomes a space where I can collect my thoughts—a place more expansive than social media allows, and one that holds reflections, photos, videos, and books or articles I’m currently consuming.
And while this space is for me to express freely, I don’t want it to be a vacuum. I welcome your comments, questions, and thoughts. Let’s make this a space for conversation and connection.
To start, I’ll be sharing some of my screenshot essays here—not in their original image form, but as written reflections. I’m excited to see where this goes, and I’m glad you’re here, reading this, and hopefully along for the ride.
Stick around by subscribing, or just visit whenever you feel called. Let’s see what unfolds from here.
