Downshifting with Indie

Several weeks ago, I met my friend Bryce Roberts of indie.vc in Central Park to discuss my career transition from venture capital to coaching.

We talked about how I burned out from the nonstop pace and transactional nature of VC, but also how much I loved (and still miss) investing. The conversation helped me reflect on how much I value those years, especially the relationships and friendships I built. I left the conversation realizing there’s still a lot to process in this journey.

We also explored the origin story of Downshift and how we give high achievers and strivers the space and permission to slow down, take inventory, and reflect before accelerating into the next phase of their careers.

The vibe in Central Park was incredible—the sounds of a nearby saxophone, the movement of the city, and people stopping to say hello added something special to the conversation.

It ended up being one of the most vulnerable and honest conversations I’ve had about my transition. I hope it resonates with you and inspires you to carve out your own path.
